General Discussion/Business:

  • HYC Board of Directors President position still available.  Erik Allen to step down from Presidency once replacement is found/voted on.

  • Lacrosse Registration remains open through March 1st. 

  • Lax Uniforms to be ordered weekend of Feb. 11th.

  • Lax Coaches as follows:  U7/Scoopers-Coach Ryan Billman; U9/Bantams -Coach Dan Doane; U11/PeeWees-Coach Fred Lynch & Coach Jim Lusby; U13/Midgets-Coach Bill King; U15/Juniors-Coach Erik Allen.

  • U7 Scoopers (Coach Ryan) 4x4 goals this season.  They will practice at Gray’s Field (Owings) the following Saturdays 2/25, 3/4 & 3/11.  3/14 going forward practices at Calverton on Tues/Thurs.

  • U9 (Coach Dan) 7 on 7 w/Goalie.  Small Ball.  10 min quarters w/subs every 5 mins.  Practices to take place at CMS Mon/Tues/Thurs until games begin than Tues/Thurs practices.

  • U11 (Coach Fred & Coach Jimmy) 2 levels: Chesapeake/Potomac.  Potomac to play Small Ball.  Practices at CMS Mon/Wed/Thurs.

  • U13 (Coach Bill) 1 Division.  SMYLA Tournament /Championship game placement (Chesapeake/Potomac) to be decided based on team’s seed. Practices at PPES Mon/Wed/Thurs.

  • U15 (Coach Erik) 1 Division. SMYLA tournament /Championship game placement (Chesapeake/Potomac) to be decided based on team’s seed.  Practice days and location TBD.

  • Lacrosse Game days as scheduled:  3/25, 4/1, 4/8, (No Games Easter weekend), 4/22, 4/29, 5/6. 5/13 (Rain Date for Make-Up Games & ALL STAR Games); 5/20 SMYLA Tournament Chesapeake Div. + U7/Scoopers; 5/21 SMYLA Tournament Potomac Div. + U9.

  • SMYLA Tournament winners to play in State Tournament.

  • Next SMYLA Meeting (Board, Coaches, Committee Members & Referees) 2/18 Mount Hope Community Center 10AM, Room 1.

  • SMYLA Deadlines: Final team commitments due 3/1.  Pre-roster’s due 3/4; Final rosters due 3/18.

  • HYC Lacrosse Butterbraid Fundraiser to take place again this year, to be managed by Sylvia Luckett.

  • Lacrosse end of season party to be held at Chesapeake Bayhawks game on June 2nd. HYC tailgate prior to game.

  • Final decision reached re new football uniforms for fall 2017.  New uniform design to be presented on website and HYC Facebook within the upcoming weeks.

  • Cheer Co-Commissioner Donna Alison has stepped down and will not be returning next season as a coach.

  • Cheer Commissioner Kim Koteff has filled all coaches positions for next season and is looking for a new Cheer Commissioner to take over for next year.

  • Looking for new place to store Cheer mats; discussed local storage facilities (on monthly contract).

  • Football Equipment, need to re-condition helmets this year or next.  Board to check official rules.

  • Football/Cheer Registration to open April 1st.

  • Tara Grim to prepare football/cheer registration fliers for elem. & middle schools in the area. Tara to distribute to schools in March.

  • Tara Grim to order football & cheer t-shirts for registrants (offer free with registration by certain date).
